The Asheville Open celebrated its 93rd year of sponsoring a USTA sanctioned tennis tournament in July 2025. This tournament is the longest, consistently running sanctioned tournament in the southeastern United States. The tournament is held in downtown Asheville, at historic Aston Park, where there are 12 clay public tennis courts. The Aston Park facility dates back to the early 1900’s when the city opened three clay courts for public use.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream weaves a magical tale of love, mischief, and mistaken identities. Set in a mystical forest, fairies interfere with the romantic entanglements of four young lovers and a group of actors, creating chaos and comedy as they navigate love’s enchantments and illusions. Our shows are free, and you don’t need a reservation. If you’d like to rent a lawn chair, you can reserve one here (of course, you can bring your own, along with a picnic and your favorite beverage – showtimes are 7:30 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and we open the gates for seating at 6:15 pm).

Ooh La La Curiosity Market is an intimate umbrella market featuring a variety of local artists and musicians several Saturdays throughout the year in Downtown Asheville. The market is also a fundraiser for a no kill animal sanctuary in East Asheville. Enjoy three different local musicians while shopping for all your Asheville souvenirs.
Artisans will exhibit a variety of craft ranging from contemporary to traditional in works of clay, wood, metal, glass, fiber, natural materials, paper, leather, mixed media, and jewelry. Join us for this unique shopping experience and enjoy live music and craft demonstrations during your visit. $12 tickets are available for individual days, at the door. Children under 12 are free.
There will be a bike expo featuring various bike company vendors in Asheville on Friday and Saturday, with Gran Fondo Asheville taking place on Sunday, July 20.
